Syracuse field hockey climbed to No. 10 this week, jumping three places up in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Poll following a 4-1 win over then-No. 8 Louisville on Friday.

Pieke van de Pas led the team with a second half brace, adding onto a two-goal lead generated by freshmen Hattie Madden and Cato Schreinemacher. SU’s victory over the Cardinals was its first top 25 win in nearly a month.

Syracuse now sits fourth among Atlantic Coast Conference teams in the national rankings. Only No. 2 Duke, No. 4 North Carolina, and No. 5 Virginia are currently ranked higher.

The Orange will have an opportunity to solidify their top 10 status heading into the postseason as they round out regular season play this Friday at home against Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons, a team still searching for their first ACC win, are unranked and sit in last place in the conference standings at 0-5.
